SMART GOALs
What will the goal of this cycle of inquiry be?
Current Reality: Teachers have goals that are tied to curriculum and state standards and only a limited number of students are meeting those goals. We believe that there is a growing gap between the method of instruction and acquisition of information. Based upon our current reality, we have identified the following areas of focus to improve student learning as: · better student engagement · more parent involvement · tapping into diverse styles of learning

To involve parents into the school community, we have a Celebration of Arts & Culture in lieu of spring back to school night. Fill the mall area with music quartets, jazz; photo displays; ceramics/art displays; ROP focus; etc of our programs strewn throughout. Include a sign up of campus tours (including Spanish speaking guides, etc). Involve students with their parents with bringing different foods or other cultural focus.
Determine learning styles in our classes in a standardized format through multiple intelligence surveys.
Each team member will assist in planning the event. Teachers will ensure their subject is represented in the Celebration. Team leaders will assign specific goals to individual members.
Have date set for celebration by end of second quarter.
